Last Updated on Nov 2, 2026
Choi Yoon is chairman of OK Financial Group.
He is accelerating efforts to turn OK Financial Group into a comprehensive financial group through the acquisition of a non-life insurance company while shedding its image as a moneylending business.
He was born in Nagoya, Japan, on September 6, 1963, as a third-generation ethnic Korean resident in Japan.
He graduated from Nagoya Gakuin University with a degree in economics.
He operated a restaurant called "Shillakan" before establishing the venture capital company One Cashing in South Korea in 2002.
When subsidiaries of Japanese moneylender A&O Group were put up for sale, he formed the JNP Consortium with ethnic Korean businesspeople in Japan and acquired them. He then launched aggressive marketing under the "Rush & Cash" brand.
He acquired Misarang, Korea IB Finance, and Yes Credit Information, followed by savings banks that he reorganized into OK Savings Bank, while withdrawing from the moneylending business.
In 2019, he changed the group's name from Apro Service Group to "OK Financial Group."
