Park Moon-deuk is chairman of HiteJinro Group.
He was born in Busan on October 22, 1950, as the younger of two sons and one daughter of Park Kyung-bok, honorary chairman of Chosun Brewery.
He graduated from Paichai High School in Seoul and Korea University with a degree in business administration.
He joined Chosun Brewery, which his father had acquired. He became CEO of Ilgwang Trading in 1981 and later served as CEO of Dongseo Glass Industrial. He returned to Chosun Brewery, served as executive vice president, and became president and CEO in 1991.
He acquired Jinro in 2005 and, after converting the group into a holding company structure in 2008, merged Hite Brewery and Jinro to become chairman of HiteJinro and HiteJinro Holdings.
He took Chosun Brewery, a perennial second-place company, to the top of the market with Hite. By acquiring Jinro, the leading soju company, he built HiteJinro into Korea's leading comprehensive alcoholic beverage company.
