Shin Jang-sik is leader of the Rebuilding Korea Party.
He was born in Seoun-dong, Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, on May 25, 1971.
He graduated from the Department of Political Science at Seoul National University's College of Social Sciences.
He ran in the Gwanak B constituency in the 17th general election in 2004 and the 18th general election in 2008 as a candidate of the Democratic Labor Party and the New Progressive Party, respectively, but lost both races.
He served as chairman of the Planning Committee of the Democratic Labor Party and spokesperson for the New Progressive Party.
He joined the Justice Party in February 2016 and served as the party's third secretary-general from July 2017 to July 2019.
He joined the Rebuilding Korea Party and served in positions including senior supreme council member, deputy floor leader, floor spokesperson, senior deputy floor leader and chairman of the Vision Committee.
He was elected the new leader of the Rebuilding Korea Party in July 2026.
He is regarded as clearly committed to progressive values while also being versatile and persistent.
