Jun Young-hyun is vice chairman and CEO of Samsung Electronics, serving as head of the Device Solutions (DS) Division.
He was born in Seoul on December 20, 1960.
He graduated from Paichai High School in Seoul and Hanyang University with a degree in electronic engineering. He earned master's and doctoral degrees in electronic engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
He worked on DRAM development at LG Semiconductor.
After LG Semiconductor was merged into Hyundai Electronics, he moved to Samsung Electronics.
After serving as head of Samsung Electronics' Memory Business, he was appointed president and CEO of Samsung SDI in 2017.
He served as chairman of the board of Samsung SDI and as vice chairman and head of Samsung Electronics' Future Business Planning Division.
After returning to the semiconductor business as head of Samsung Electronics' DS Division, he has served as CEO of Samsung Electronics since 2025.
He values practicality and does not tolerate mistakes. He is meticulous in everything he does.
