Park Sung-soo is the chairman of E-Land Group.
He faces the task of completing the improvement of E-Land Group's financial structure and the reorganization of its governance structure, which have remained unfinished for more than 10 years.
He was born on March 1, 1953, in Mokpo, South Jeolla Province.
He graduated from Gwangju Jeil High School and the Department of Architectural Engineering at Seoul National University.
He started his clothing business with "England," a 2-pyeong clothing store he opened in front of Ewha Womans University. He later changed the company name to "E-Land" and founded the company.
He expanded overseas operations, mainly in China, and grew the company through aggressive mergers and acquisitions (M&A), adding more than 20 brands and businesses, including NewCore, Haitai Distribution, Taechang, and Carrefour Korea.
He built a corporate group spanning not only apparel but also restaurants, construction, hotels, resorts, department stores, and theme parks.
He stepped down from frontline management in 2019, but as the largest shareholder, he continues to wield powerful influence.
