Kim Do-gyun is the CEO of Kangwon Land.

He graduated from Sokcho High School in Gangwon Province and was commissioned as an officer after graduating with the 44th class of the Korea Military Academy.
He received a master's degree in political science and international relations from the graduate school of Korea University and completed doctoral coursework at Kyonggi University's Graduate School of Politics and Policy.
After being commissioned as a second lieutenant, he was assigned as a platoon leader with the 9th Infantry Division, known as the White Horse Division. He later served as a battalion commander and regimental commander in the 62nd and 73rd Divisions and participated in inter-Korean military working-level talks as a member of the South Korean delegation. He served as head of the North Korea Policy Division under the Ministry of National Defense's Policy Planning Office, Secretary for Defense Reform at the National Security Office, and Director General for North Korea Policy at the Ministry of National Defense with the rank of major general.
He retired from the military after serving as commander of the Capital Defense Command with the rank of lieutenant general and entered politics by joining the Democratic Party of Korea in 2023.
In March 2024, he ran in the 22nd National Assembly election for the Sokcho-Inje-Goseong-Yangyang constituency in Gangwon Province but lost the election.
After serving as security spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea, he was elected chair of the party's Gangwon Provincial Chapter and served as co-chair of its Special Committee on National Defense and Security.
In August 2026, he was appointed CEO of Kangwon Land.
He was regarded as one of the military's leading experts on strategy toward North Korea.
