Life Summary

Lee Byung-chul is chairman of Daol Financial Group. He also serves as CEO of Daol Investment & Securities.

He is focusing on overcoming risks related to real estate project financing (PF) and diversifying the group's business portfolio.

Lee was born in Mungyeong, North Gyeongsang Province, in 1968.

He graduated from Taereung High School in Seoul and attended Korea University's Department of Business Administration before dropping out.

In 2004, he founded Daol Real Estate Trust, Korea's first privately owned real estate trust company, and established Daol Asset Management, Korea's first asset management company specializing in real estate.

After selling stakes in Daol Real Estate Trust and Daol Asset Management to Hana Financial Group, he served as president and CEO of Hana Daol Trust, which had been renamed following the deal, while also heading Hana Financial Group's real estate business group, overseeing the group's real estate operations.

He founded Daol Investment and engaged in the real estate investment business.

In 2016, he acquired a stake in KTB Investment & Securities and became its vice chairman and CEO.

He became the largest shareholder after buying most of the KTB Investment & Securities shares held by Chairman Kwon Sung-moon.

He has earned several "first in Korea" distinctions in the field of real estate finance.
