After working at SK Securities, he moved to Samsung Investment Trust Management, where he served as Head of Index Management, Executive Director of ETF Management, and Executive Vice President overseeing passive investment.
He later served as Vice President overseeing bond, passive, overseas investment, and asset allocation management before being recruited as CEO of Korea Investment Management in 2022.
He pioneered and led Korea’s ETF market by launching Asia’s first leveraged ETF and inverse ETF.
He is known as the “pioneer of ETFs” and the “father of ETFs.”
