He was officially appointed CEO and President of Samsung Securities in March 2024.
Having gained broad experience at Samsung Life Insurance in management support, strategy, asset management, and coordination among the group’s financial affiliates, he is regarded as a leader with strengths in conservative risk management and stable profit generation.
After taking office as CEO, Park Jong-moon quickly restored Samsung Securities’ earnings.
Samsung Securities posted annual net profit of more than KRW 1 trillion (US$719.4 million) in 2025 and recorded its highest-ever quarterly performance in the first quarter of 2026.
However, despite being a mega investment bank, the company has yet to receive approval for its short-term financing business, which remains a challenge to be resolved.
Samsung Securities made considerable progress in the short-term financing business approval process in 2026, but the Financial Services Commission’s review has been suspended due to a regulatory sanction issue involving the Financial Supervisory Service.
