Lee Soon-hyung is chairman of SeAH Group. He also serves as chairman of SeAH Holdings and SeAH Steel Holdings.
He is expanding the group’s business into the development and production of high-value-added steel products, including steel for offshore wind power generation, stainless steel products for oil field development, and aerospace materials.
He was born in Seoul on February 10, 1949, as the second son of Lee Jong-deok, founder of SeAH Steel.
He graduated from Kyunggi High School and the Department of Business Administration at Hanyang University.
He joined Haeduck Enterprise, a SeAH Group family company, as an executive director and was appointed CEO of Haeduck Steel in 1983. He later also served as CEO of Haeduck Industrial and Haeduck Electric.
He became vice chairman of SeAH Holdings and chairman of Haeduck Enterprise, and has served as chairman of SeAH Holdings since 2011. He also became chairman of SeAH Group and SeAH Steel Holdings.
Following the death of his elder brother, former chairman Lee Woon-hyung, in 2013, he became the head of SeAH Group. He expanded the group’s portfolio from steel pipes into specialty steel, increasing the scale of the business.
