Koo Bon-hak is the President and CEO of Cuckoo Homesys. He also serves as the President and CEO of Cuckoo Electronics.
He was born in Seoul on October 17, 1969, as the eldest son of Koo Ja-shin, the founder and Chairman and CEO of Cuckoo Holdings.
He graduated from Korea University with a degree in business administration and earned a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois in the United States.
In 1995, he joined Sunkwang Electronics, the predecessor of Cuckoo Homesys.
After serving as the President and CEO of Cuckoo Electronics, he became the President and CEO of Cuckoo Homesys in 2017.
In 2022, he ushered in the second generation of family management after receiving all of his father Koo Ja-shin’s shares in Cuckoo as a gift.
He has worked to transform the company into a “comprehensive home appliance and rental company” by strengthening its product competitiveness and expanding its brands.
He faces urgent issues that need to be resolved, including overseas subsidiaries suffering from capital impairment and allegations that the company interfered with labor union activities.
