Shin Dong-won is Chairman of Nongshim Group. He oversees the management of Nongshim Holdings, the group's holding company.
He has focused his efforts on continuously enhancing Nongshim's brand value in overseas markets.
He has also devoted significant attention to diversifying the company's business structure by fostering new businesses such as health functional foods and alternative meat products.
He was born on January 9, 1958, in Busan as the eldest son of the late Shin Chun-ho, the founder and Chairman of Nongshim Group.
He graduated from Shinil High School in Seoul and earned a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Korea University. He later received a master's degree in International Trade from the Graduate School of Korea University.
After joining Nongshim, he was appointed CEO of Nongshim Planning in 1996. He later served as CEO in charge of Nongshim's international business operations before being promoted to Vice Chairman and CEO of Nongshim.
He also served as CEO of Nongshim Holdings. Although he became Chairman of Nongshim, he stepped down from the CEO position in 2022 and also relinquished his role as CEO of Nongshim Holdings.
He is known for his quiet but strong leadership style. While he does not frequently appear in public, he has played a leading role in organizing social gatherings among business leaders.
