Park Seung-il is the president of Asan Medical Center.
He was born on July 14, 1954.
He graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine and earned a master’s degree and a doctorate in medicine from Seoul National University Graduate School.
After completing his residency at Seoul National University Hospital, he worked as a fellow at Asan Medical Center.
After being appointed as a professor in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Ulsan College of Medicine, he served at Asan Medical Center as head of the Bio-Resource Center, director of inpatient services in the Medical Support Office, head of the Planning and Coordination Office, and vice president for medical affairs before being selected as hospital president.
He succeeded in winning a third term in 2025.
He is a lung transplant expert who successfully performed South Korea’s first living-donor lung transplant surgery.
He is focusing his efforts on advancing Asan Medical Center into a world-class hub for the treatment of severe diseases and a patient-centered future medical model.
He served as vice chairman and public relations committee chairman of the Korean Hospital Association.
