Kim Yoon is the chairman of Samyang Group.
He also serves as chairman of Samyang Holdings, the holding company of Samyang Group.
He is also chairman of the Yangyoung Foundation and the Sudang Foundation, Samyang Group’s scholarship foundations.
He is focusing on securing new growth engines for the group with “specialty” and “global” as key words.
He was born in Busan on February 24, 1953, and graduated from Kyungbock High School and Korea University’s Department of Business Administration. He later earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Graduate School of Business at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey in the United States.
His grandfather is Kim Yeon-soo, honorary chairman of Samyang Group and founder of Samyang Corp., and his father is Kim Sang-hong, honorary chairman of Samyang Group.
Kim Yoon joined Samyang Corp. in 1985 and became CEO and chairman in 2004. After the group shifted to a holding company structure in 2011, he also served as CEO and chairman of Samyang Holdings, the holding company. As of April 2026, he only sits on the board and does not serve as CEO.
Samyang Group is a long-standing company founded in 1924, and it marked its 100th anniversary in 2024.
Kim Yoon is considered direct and honest, and is regarded as skilled in communication.
He values “moderation,” the founding spirit of former chairman Kim Yeon-soo, the founder.
