Life Summary

Ham Young-joon is the CEO and chairman of Ottogi.

He is interested in expanding overseas sales. In Korea, he is trying to diversify revenue by broadening the company’s product lineup into ready-to-eat meals, sauces, and health foods.

He was born in Seoul on March 2, 1959, as the eldest son of Ham Tae-ho, honorary chairman of Ottogi.

After graduating from Osan High School in Seoul and Hanyang University’s Department of Business Administration, he completed an MBA program at the University of Southern California’s business school.

He joined Ottogi and was appointed CEO and vice president in 1999. After serving as CEO and president, he became CEO and chairman in 2010.

While focusing on diversifying Ottogi’s business into tea and health foods, he kept ramen at the center.

He earned nicknames such as “model student” and “CEO of upright living.” As the company kept the hiring of non-regular workers to a minimum, it also gained an image as a “good company.”

He went through difficulties as the issue of unfairly funneling work to affiliates came into focus.
