Following the resignation of former Chairman Park Cha-hoon, he was elected in a by-election and assumed the position of Chairman of the National Credit Union Federation of Korea in December 2023.
He was re-elected in the December 2025 election.
He is focusing on restoring the fundamental values of cooperatives and strengthening the role of social solidarity finance.
