Koo Hyuk-seo is the CEO nominee of LX International.
He is focusing on accelerating the development of promising new minerals such as nickel and reorganizing the company’s business portfolio.
He was born in September 1967.
He graduated from Korea University with a degree in law and completed an MBA program at Aalto University in Finland (formerly the Helsinki School of Economics).
He joined LG International, the predecessor of LX International. He took on practical responsibilities across the entire resource sector—from coal to steel and non-ferrous metals—while holding key positions such as Head of Business Division (Executive Director), Head of Metal Business Division (Executive Director), and Head of Energy Business Division (Senior Executive Vice President).
As Regional Head for Indonesia and Vice President, he led the acquisition of local nickel mines (including AKP).
He was nominated as CEO in November 2025.
He played a major role in helping LX International secure a future growth engine by building a value chain for secondary battery minerals.
Based on 30 years of experience in resource development and field expertise, he is credited with swiftly resolving supply chain risks and is regarded as the right person to transform the company into a “global green energy solutions company.”
