Kim Sang-beom is the Chairman of ISU Group.

He was born on May 18, 1961, as the third son among three sons and two daughters of Kim Jun-sung, Honorary Chairman of ISU Group.

He graduated from Shinil High School in Seoul and the Department of Business Administration at Seoul National University, and received a Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Graduate School in the United States.

He worked as a lawyer in the United States before joining Daewoo Group, where he served as head of the International Legal Affairs Office.

In 1995, he moved to ISU Chemical, which his father had acquired, and was appointed CEO. After the launch of ISU Group, he served as Vice Chairman, and in January 2000, he became Chairman of ISU Group, succeeding his father who stepped down as Honorary Chairman.

He led the company’s growth by establishing its governance structure through strong ownership.

He is focusing on next-generation battery materials, AI data processing technology, and bio antibody platforms as the group’s three key growth engines.

Swift financial stabilization through asset sales and business restructuring is cited as an urgent task.

He was also embroiled in controversy over his high salary.

He is also the son-in-law of the late Kim Woo-choong, former Chairman of Daewoo Group.
