Lee Sang-won is Chairman and CEO of Sang-A Frontec.
He is focusing on strengthening the company’s influence in overseas markets beyond holding the No. 1 domestic market share in high-performance materials known as “super engineering plastics.”
He was born on May 20, 1954, in Yeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, as the son of Lee Kyung-ho, the founder of Sang-A Frontec.
He graduated from Jungkyung High School in Seoul and the College of Agriculture at Seoul National University. He completed an MBA program at Yonsei University Graduate School of Business.
After gaining work experience at Hyundai Corporation, he joined Sang-A Trading, which was founded by his father and founding Chairman Lee Kyung-ho, in 1986 as a managing director.
In 2005, he was appointed CEO of Sang-A Frontec. In 2021, he was promoted to Chairman.
He is independently developing secondary battery and membrane component materials and fostering them as future new growth engines.
