Park Jin-young is the Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of JYP Entertainment.
He is strengthening a localization strategy that introduces idol groups featuring local members from major markets such as the United States, Japan, and China.
He was born in Seoul on December 13, 1971.
He moved to the United States in elementary school and lived there for two and a half years, where he was exposed to American pop culture and began dreaming of becoming a singer.
While studying in the Department of Geology at Yonsei University, he debuted as “Park Jin-young and the New Generation,” but the group did not succeed. He later debuted as a solo artist with the title track “Don’t Leave Me.”
He became one of the distinctive dance singers representing the 1990s with hits such as “Elevator,” “She Was Pretty,” “Honey,” and “I Have a Woman.”
He founded JYP Entertainment and transformed himself into a producer. By nurturing artists such as god, Park Ji-yoon, Rain, Byul, Wonder Girls, 2PM, Miss A, TWICE, Stray Kids, and ITZY, he helped the company grow into one of Korea’s top four entertainment agencies.
He often says he wants to live as an “eternal entertainer” who sings and performs even in old age.
He continues to stay active not only as a producer but also as a singer and TV personality.
In September 2025, he was appointed Co-Chair of the Presidential Commission on Popular Culture Exchange.
