Life Summary

Kim Won-kyung is the CEO of Laontech.

He aims to make the company a global top-tier player in the semiconductor robot industry.

He was born on October 25, 1965.

He graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Hanyang University and received a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology).

He joined the Central Research Institute of Daewoo Heavy Industries (now Doosan Infracore) and devoted ten years to robot development, but when the company halted its robotics business due to restructuring, he turned his attention to entrepreneurship.

In 2000, he founded Laontech together with Chief Technology Officer Oh Jin-ho, Senior Executive Vice President, who had been with him since their university years and throughout their time at Daewoo Heavy Industries.

He is the only one in Korea who succeeded in localizing vacuum robots that transport wafers within semiconductor manufacturing lines.

He is regarded as a technology leader with a strong spirit of challenge.
