Roh Tae-moon is the President and Head of the Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics.
He also serves as Acting Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division and Chair of the Quality Innovation Committee.
As the AI smartphone market enters a full-fledged growth phase, he is focusing on strengthening Samsung’s artificial intelligence platform, Galaxy AI, to gain an edge over Apple.
In cooperation with Google and Qualcomm, he is expanding Samsung’s AI smart device lineup by introducing extended reality (XR) devices equipped with AI.
He was born on September 3, 1968.
He graduated from Daeryun High School in Daegu and earned a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from Yonsei University. He received his master’s and doctoral degrees in electrical and electronic engineering from Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH).
He joined Samsung Electronics as a researcher and achieved strong results in smartphone development, becoming the company’s youngest ever Executive Director and rising to Executive Vice President in just six years. When promoted to President, he was again recognized as the youngest president at Samsung Electronics.
He led Samsung’s smartphone business as Head of the Wireless Business Division.
During the vacancy created by Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee, CEO of Samsung Electronics, he served as Acting Head of the DX Division and was credited with stabilizing the organization quickly.
He places strong importance on consumer feedback in product development.
He is a regular member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea.
