He was born on June 23, 1968, in Masan, Gyeongsangnam-do.

He graduated from Masan High School and earned a degree in public law from Seoul National University.

After passing the 39th bar exam, he served as a judge at the Daejeon District Court, Suwon District Court, Seoul Central District Court, and Changwon District Court. He later became Director of the Information and Communications Bureau at the National Court Administration and Senior Judge at the Seoul Central District Court.

He joined SK Telecom in 2020 as Head of the Legal Group. As a founding member of SK Square, he led the Investment Support Center at the time of its establishment.

Since 2024, he has served as President of External Relations at SK Telecom, overseeing ESG, Corporate Relations, and Public Relations, while also chairing the Governance Committee of the SUPEX Council, SK Group’s top decision-making body.

In October 2025, he was appointed CEO of SK Telecom.

He is the first person from a legal background to become CEO in SK Telecom’s history.
