Cho Hyun-bum is the CEO and Chairman of Hankook & Company. He also serves as Chairman of its subsidiary, Hankook Tire & Technology.
He is currently focusing on achieving internal integration that can generate synergy between the group’s existing businesses and the recently acquired Hanon Systems.
Cho was born on January 7, 1972, in Haman County, South Gyeongsang Province, as the youngest son among two sons and two daughters of Cho Yang-rae, Honorary Chairman of Hankook & Company Group.
He attended Kyungbok Elementary School in Seoul, Dwight-Englewood School in the United States, and graduated from Boston College with a degree in Finance.
After joining Hankook Tire, he served as Head of the Marketing Division and Head of the Management Operations Division, later moving to the holding company Hankook Tire Worldwide (now Hankook & Company) as Head of the Corporate Planning Division.
He became CEO of Hankook Tire in 2017.
Amid investigations and trials related to personal corruption charges, he repeatedly resigned from and returned to his position as CEO.
In May 2025, he was sentenced to three years in prison and taken into custody for embezzlement and breach of trust.
He is the son-in-law of former President Lee Myung-bak.
