Eom Jong-hwa is the president of Sejong University.

He was born in 1965.

He graduated from Neung-in High School in Daegu and earned his bachelor’s degree in physics from Seoul National University.

He received his master’s degree in physics from the Graduate School of Seoul National University and his doctorate in physics from Northwestern University in the United States.

In 2001, he was appointed professor of physics and astronomy at Sejong University.

He later served as Dean of External Affairs, Dean of Academic Affairs, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Vice President for Administration before being appointed president in 2024. His term runs until July 26, 2027.

He is a physicist recognized for developing the world’s first spin transistor.

He aims to transform Sejong University into a leading institution representing Korea’s G2 status.

He is focusing on educational innovation, such as introducing digital programs, as well as campus development, including the construction of the new Aejiheon Complex.
