Choi Su-an is Vice Chairman and CEO of L&F.

He has been focusing on diversifying the company’s customer base and restoring profitability through the mass production and supply of cathode materials for LFP batteries.

Born on May 10, 1970, he graduated from Suseong High School in Daegu and went on to study chemical engineering at Yonsei University. He earned both his master’s and doctoral degrees in chemical engineering from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) and later completed an MBA program at the Helsinki School of Economics in Finland.

He began his career at LG Group, working in the battery division of LG Chem, before moving to Kimberly-Clark, where he served as Senior Manager of IC.

Choi then joined L&F, holding key roles such as Head of Research Center (Managing Director), Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Executive Vice President of the Electronic Materials Division, and Vice President of Strategic Planning, before being appointed Co-CEO in 2016.

He was subsequently promoted to sole CEO and later to Vice Chairman and CEO. He also serves as a non-executive director at LS-L&F Battery Solution.

Choi is recognized for independently developing high-performance cathode active materials for lithium-ion batteries and supplying them to leading domestic and global clients, including LG Energy Solution, SK On, and Tesla. His contributions have been credited with strengthening the global standing of Korea’s battery industry.
