Ham Ki-sun is the founder and president of Hanseo University.
He has dedicated himself to developing Hanseo University as a specialized institution in aerospace studies.
He was born on April 2, 1941, in Yesan, South Chungcheong Province.
He graduated from Yesan Agricultural High School in Chungnam and went on to study at the College of Medicine at Sooto Medical College (now Korea University College of Medicine).
He earned both his master’s and doctoral degrees from the Graduate School of Public Health at Seoul National University.
After completing a residency in plastic surgery at Paik Hospital, he served as a military doctor in Vietnam.
He later became a professor at the Catholic University College of Medicine and established Korea’s first hospital specializing in plastic surgery, Oh In Plastic Surgery Hospital.
In 1989, he founded the Hamsung Academy Foundation and established Hanseo University in 1992, becoming its chairman.
In 2000, he was appointed president of Hanseo University.
He also served as vice president of the Korean Red Cross.
He has provided free surgeries for more than 2,000 patients with cleft palate.
