Life Summary

Kim Eung-sang is the Chairman and CEO of Hannong Chemicals.

He was born on October 3, 1952, in Busan.

He graduated from Kyungbok High School in Seoul and went on to study Business Administration at Korea University.

He began his career at Korea Agricultural Chemicals (Hanguk Nongyak).

At Hannong's affiliate Hanjung Chemical, he served as Executive Director and Senior Executive Director before being appointed CEO in 1992.

In 1997, he became CEO of Hannong Chemicals.

In 2007, when Dongbu Group sold its stake in Hannong Chemicals, a subsidiary of Hannong, he acquired it and became the largest shareholder.

He has since focused on expanding production capabilities, notably by establishing BASF Hannong Chemical Solutions, a joint venture with BASF.
