He further grew the company through mergers and acquisitions, acquiring SK Investment Trust Management, SK Life Insurance, KDB Daewoo Securities, as well as ETF-specialized asset management firms in Canada, the United States, and Australia. He also acquired Sharekhan Securities, a local brokerage firm in India.
After stepping down as chairman of Mirae Asset Securities, he has been focusing on international business as the Global Strategy Officer.
