In 1988, he joined Shinyoung Securities, where he worked in various departments, including the International Department, Planning and Coordination Office, Research Department, and Sales Branch. In 2005, he was appointed CEO.

He has also served as a member of the Korea Financial Investment Association’s Self-Regulation Committee and as an outside director of the Korea Securities Depository.
