He oversees Naver's international business operations, focusing on expanding Naver's influence globally.

Although he stepped down as chairman of Naver's board and withdrew from day-to-day management, Lee continues to hold responsibility for Naver's overall management as the company's de facto leader.

Lee Hae-jin was born on June 22, 1967, in Seoul.

He graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Computer Engineering and earned a master’s degree in Computer Science from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).

Lee founded Naver's predecessor, NaverCom, and led its management. Later, he merged the company with Hangame, founded by Kim Beom-su (the founder of Kakao), to establish NHN.

Leveraging the success of the "Knowledge iN" service, Lee positioned NHN as the leading company in the portal industry. After Hangame spun off as NHN Entertainment, the company was renamed Naver.

Despite his meticulous nature and calm demeanor, he is known for being bold and unafraid of taking risks when making business decisions.
