Huh Eun-chul is the CEO and President of GC Biopharma.
He is expanding GC Biopharma's business scope by promoting the development of vaccines and treatments for rare diseases.
He was born as the second son to former Green Cross Chairman Huh Young-sup and Mrs. Jung In-ae on February 23, 1972, in Seoul. His grandfather is Huh Chae-kyung, the founder of Hanil Cement.
He graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Food Engineering and earned a master's degree from the same university's Graduate School of Biochemical Engineering. He completed his Ph.D. coursework in Food Engineering at Cornell University in the United States.
He joined Green Cross's Business Planning Department and mainly worked in the Research and Development (R&D) division. After serving as Director and Executive Director of the R&D Planning Department, he expanded his role as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and later oversaw overall management as the Head of the Planning Coordination Office.
He maintained a joint CEO system with Vice Chairman Cho Soon-tae of Green Cross, but now oversees the management of GC Biopharma as the sole CEO after Vice Chairman Cho stepped down.
He is a devout Christian.
He dislikes being bound by formalities. He prefers a horizontal organizational culture and is considered an icon of youthful sensibility and communication among employees.
