Life Summary

Ryu Jin is the Chairman and CEO of Poongsan Corporation. He also serves as the Chairman and CEO of the holding company Poongsan Holdings and the affiliated company Poongsan Special Metal.

Following in the footsteps of his father, founder Ryu Chan-woo, he leads the Poongsan Group.

He is also the chairman of the Korea Employers Federation (KEF), formerly known as the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI).

He was born on March 5, 1958, in Hahoe Village, Andong, Gyeongbuk, as the youngest son of Poongsan founder Ryu Chan-woo.

He graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in English Literature and pursued a Master's degree in Business Administration at Dartmouth College in the United States.

After joining Poongsan Metal Industry, he received management training for over a decade before being appointed as the CEO of Poongsan.

He became chairman in 2000, the year following his father's death.

He is credited with elevating Poongsan's major businesses in copper alloy products and defense materials to a world-class level.

Despite his reluctance to give interviews, earning him the image of a "reclusive businessman," he is known as a well-connected figure in both political and business circles.

He is practical and down-to-earth, often traveling alone on business trips. Known for his deep knowledge of wine and excellent manners, he is regarded as a gentleman in the business community.
