Noh Dong-jin is the president of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives.
He also serves as a director of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), chairman of the Fisheries Committee, and president of the Korea Fisheries Industry Association.
Due to the potential negative impact on the entire fishing industry from the discharge of contaminated water from the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant in Japan, he is striving to develop countermeasures.
He graduated from Changshin University with a degree in Chinese and completed the highest management course at the Graduate School of Public Administration at Changwon National University.
Born on November 13, 1954, in Jinhae, Gyeongsangnam-do, he is the son of an ark shell farmer and has been engaged in fishing from an early age.
He has been a vocal advocate for fishermen in relation to the construction of a new port in the Jinhae area of Gyeongsangnam-do. Additionally, he has led efforts to protect fishermen's rights in issues such as sea sand extraction.
As the 21st and 22nd president of the Jinhae Fisheries Cooperative, he significantly grew the cooperative and was elected as the 26th president of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives on February 16, 2023.
He places great importance on on-site management, directly listening to the voices of fishermen.
