Born on January 16, 1968, in Haman County, South Gyeongsang Province, he is the eldest son of Cho Seok-rea, the former honorary chairman of Hyosung Group.

After graduating from middle school, he went abroad to study and graduated from St. Paul's School in the United States and Yale University with a degree in political science.

He obtained a master's degree in political science from the Graduate School of Keio University in Japan.

After working at Mitsubishi and Morgan Stanley, he joined Hyosung.

He worked in the Strategy Headquarters, became president, and headed the Performance Groups (PG) in the textile, trade, and information and communication sectors.

Even after being appointed as chairman of the group and CEO of Hyosung, he continues to oversee the business strategies of the affiliates.

He led Hyosung Group's expansion into overseas markets, laying the foundation for the group's performance improvement, and completed the transition to a holding company system by liquidating the shares of Hyosung Capital held by the holding company Hyosung.

He emphasizes ESG management at the group level, achieving significant results.

He is proficient in English and Japanese and is an all-around sportsman with a strong competitive spirit.
