Life Summary

Park Sung-tae is the President of Wonkwang University.

Born on May 30, 1968, Park is the grandson of So Tae-san Park Jung-bin, the founder of Won Buddhism.

He graduated from Namseong High School and the Business Administration Department of Jeonbuk National University.

Park obtained his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Business Administration from the Graduate School of Jeonbuk National University.

He began his career as a full-time lecturer in the Department of Business Administration at Wonkwang University. Over time, he served as the Chair of the Business Administration Department, the Dean of the College of Business Administration, and the Director of the Business Education Center before being appointed President at the end of 2022.

He has held various leadership roles including President of the Korean Industrial Economics Association, President of the Korean Management Association, Vice President of the Korean Financial Management Association, Vice President of the Korean Management Association, Vice President of the Korean Professional Managers Association, and President of the Korean Financial Management Association.

Park is also active as a member of the Wonkwang University Won Buddhism Temple Management Committee and as an advisor to the Won Buddhism Professors' Council.
