Yoo Jae-hoon is the president of the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC).
He is focused on establishing a financial market crisis response system and expanding the protection scope of financial products.
He was born in Seoul on March 10, 1961.
He graduated from Kyunggi High School and Seoul National University with a degree in trade.
He earned a master's degree in public administration from the Graduate School of Public Administration at Seoul National University and a master's degree in economics from the Graduate School of Sciences Po in Paris. He also obtained a Ph.D. in economics from Kyunggi University.
He began his public service career after passing the 26th Higher Civil Service Examination.
He worked at the Ministry of Finance and the Financial Supervisory Commission, and served as the spokesperson for the Financial Services Commission, a standing member of the Securities and Futures Commission, the Director General of the Treasury Bureau at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, and the president of the Korea Securities Depository.
He also worked at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the World Bank (IBRD), and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
In 2022, he was appointed as the president of the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation.
He is recognized as a policy finance expert with extensive experience in economic ministries and the Financial Services Commission, as well as an international expert.
